Nigerian actress Mercy Aigbe faced criticism from a fan after she assumed the role of Arowoshadinni of an Islamic foundation.
Recalls that Mercy Aigbe convert to muslim shortly after she got married to popular movie marketer, Kazim Adeoti.
In a recent update, Mercy Aigbe was honoured with an Islamic title of Arowoshadinni of an Islamic foundation for her wsupport and contribution to Islamic charities.
In a viral video, the actress was seen reciting in Arabic language during her turbaning ceremony.
While many fans congratulated and supported the actress on her new role, one fan expressed disappointment and criticism. The fan accused Mercy Aigbe of causing pain to the first wife of her husband and using religion to cover face.
The fan wrote, “If you like recite it 100 times,na thief you be jare, Alhaja Ole. You caused another woman pain, now using religion to cover up.”
The comment stirred some reactions from other followers, with some defending the actress. See below:

Yorubawood recalls that Funsho Adeoti, the first wife of Mercy Aigbe’s husband, Kazim Adeoti reveals that never agreed with her husband to have a second wife in their marriage.
In her words, “I never agreed with him to have a second wife in our marriage. Mercy Aigbe was my close friend who I trusted so much around my family because I liked her.
“When I did a surprise 40th birthday for my husband, I personally invited her and her ex husband back then. She became my husband’s side chick and started sleeping with him when her son was just 5 months. She has caused several problems in my marriage over the years but I am done now. She can have him. I have released him to her and left everything to God”.
Adeoti and Aigbe made their marriage public recently drawing backlash from people who accused the actress of marrying her husband’s friend. But the actress debunked the claim, saying her new husband and ex were never friends.
When the marriage became a public subject, Aigbe’s former husband also reacted on social media with a picture of himself and Mercy Aigbe with the Adeotis, hinting that the two couples knew each other. He captioned the picture: “The truth has finally come out. Thank God”
Mercu Aigbe on the other insist that she didn’t break her new husband’s home.
She said, “They were never family friends as speculated by Funsho and what is been peddled on social media. The picture (in question) was taken in 2013 during Adekaz’s fortieth birthday, and I was still married to Gentry then. I attended the event with my then husband. My husband is a Muslim and he is allowed to have more than one wife. I did not break his marriage to Funsho.”
