Poverty is a symptom of darkness, – Pastor E.A Adeboye .
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has taken to his twitter space to explain the place of money in the propagation of the gospel.
The octogenarian clergyman in a long tweet used Bartimaeus the blind man (a Bible character) as a case study noting that he was not only blind but also poor, at this, poverty is also a sign of darkness.
According to him, the devil knows that the place of money in the propagation of the gospel cannot be overemphasized that is why the devil will do all he can to make Christians especially missionary remain poor so as to slow down the force of the gospel.
He reinforced the faith of Christians by reminding them that Jesus Christ left all His riches and chose to live poor so that Christians might be rich.
Pastor E.A Adeboye further asserted that it is wrong to assume that poverty should be a signature of every Christian.
He backed up his explanations with the story of a man who was once rich but luck fell off his side and faced poverty but when he met Jesus, all the thing he lost were restored.
In his words;
Another symptom of darkness is poverty.
In addition to being blind, Bartimaeus was also indigent. He was described as a blind beggar in the Bible.
Poverty is any circumstance in which one must beg for food. The purpose of the Almighty God is for you to succeed, not to be a beggar.
Pastors started to associate purity with destitution during the period of time when the enemy kept the Church in the dark. The adversary is aware that having money allows you to spread the gospel more quickly.
I don’t know about you, but I’m going to prosper in the name of Jesus Christ because light is a symbol of success.
Darkness attempts to keep you in poverty, but the job of the Light is to keep you in wealth. According to 2 Corinthians 8:9
Because you are aware of the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, while being wealthy, became poor for your benefit so that you might become rich through his poverty.
He underwent poverty so that you would experience riches via His poverty. I have wonderful news for you if you are a true child of God and have the Light of the Almighty within you: those who have predicted that you will pass away in poverty will be dissatisfied.
(3 John 2) says He wishes above all things that you would prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.
Whatever the devil may have planned, you will prosper if God desires for you to do so as long as your soul prospers.
A extremely affluent man and his wife got into an argument. I would make sure that you trek in this Lagos, she assured him.
The warning was dismissed by the man, who was so affluent that he owned more than 14 vehicles.
But by the time this man visited our church for the first time, he only had one automobile and 50 kobo remaining.
With the money, he wanted to buy food but decided to just buy petrol because he knew that if he did, he would have to walk home like his wife had suggested. The tide began to turn in his favor when he encountered the Light.
He was dedicating two new homes on the day that he gave his testimony. If you commit your life to God and live a pure life, He can take you from extreme poverty to wealth.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, please let Your light send the darkness of poverty far away from me, in Jesus’ name.
