Whitney Omodesola Adeniran, a 12-year-old girl at Chrisland who passed away recently during a school inter-house sporting event, was mourned by her mother Blessing Adeniran, who has pleaded for the right to do so.

The grieving mother addressed those who had criticized her for posting numerous images and videos of her deceased daughter on her Instagram profile while sobbing.

Blessing posted some of her precious moments with her daughter on her Instagram page.

In response to the posts, some internet users suggested Blessing take a break from social media to grieve.

Blessing appealed for permission to honor her daughter in her own way in a video she posted online in which she addressed her detractors and supporters.

She claims that the only image of her daughter she can currently conjure up in her mind is that of her lifeless body laying on the hospital bed.

She said that the reason for releasing the images online was for her own mental health.

“I know many people are saying I should not post my daughter again. I shouldn’t look at her pictures, I shouldn’t post her. Some people have even come to my DM, some people have called me, oh you are hurting yourself more, don’t do it. Some people even said I should go off social media. I’m not doing it for anybody, I’m doing it for myself.

“The only image I have in my head is when I saw her lying in that bed lifeless. It’s stuck in my head. Whenever I close my eyes its the image I see. I need to let go of that image for my own sanity.

I can’t even enter her room for now. I need to remember Desola. I need to see her face. I need to see the beautiful child she was. So I’m sorry if it offends you but allow me please”.
